These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of arslociatelier.com (the “Site”) and any purchase you make from ARS LOCI LLC, doing business as Ars Loci Atelier (“Ars Loci,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our products

Every Ars Loci luminaire is 100% handmade by artisans from the Andes Mountains in South America. Each piece starts with a careful selection of organic, natural fibers such as wicker, vine, fique, and jute, which are then woven by hand using techniques passed down through generations of Andean craftspeople. The result is a one-of-a-kind luminaire that carries the texture, warmth, and character of the materials and the hands that shaped it. Because each piece is made by hand, small variations in color, weave, texture, and size are part of its character and are not defects. Photos and colors on the Site are as accurate as possible, but screens vary, and the piece you receive may differ slightly from the images.

2. Orders and pricing

All prices are in U.S. dollars. We may correct pricing or description errors and may refuse or cancel any order, including after it is placed; if we cancel a paid order, we will refund you in full. An order is accepted only when we confirm it by email.

3. Custom and made-to-order pieces

Custom sizes, colors, or designs are made specifically for you. Production times will be confirmed before you order. Custom and made-to-order pieces cannot be canceled once production begins and are not eligible for return or refund, except as described under Damaged Items and Warranty below.

4. Payment

Payment is due at checkout and is processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.

5. Shipping

We currently ship within the United States only. Delivery times shown are estimates and are not guaranteed. Risk of loss passes to you when the order is delivered to the carrier-confirmed address.

6. Damaged items

Please inspect your order on arrival. If anything arrives damaged or defective, email us at info@arslociatelier.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We will repair, replace, or refund the item at our option.

7. Returns

Standard (non-custom) items may be returned within 14 days of delivery if they are unused and in their original packaging. Contact us first to get return instructions; returns sent without approval may not be accepted. You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or defective. Once we receive and inspect the return, we will refund the purchase price to your original payment method. Original shipping charges are not refundable.

8. Limited warranty

We warrant that each Ars Loci lamp will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, including its electrical components (socket, cord, and switch), for one (1) year from the date of delivery to the original purchaser. If a covered defect appears during that time, contact us with your order number, a description, and photos. We will repair or replace the item, or refund the purchase price if repair or replacement is not practical, at our option.

This warranty does not cover: normal wear; natural variation, fading, or changes in natural fibers over time; damage from sunlight, moisture, outdoor use, heat, or improper cleaning; use of bulbs above the recommended wattage or non-recommended bulb types; accidents, misuse, or alterations; improper installation; or damage during shipping that was not reported within 48 hours. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

To the extent permitted by law, this limited warranty is our only warranty, and we disclaim all other express or implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, beyond the one-year period stated above.

9. Safe use

Our lamps are for indoor use. Follow the bulb type and maximum wattage recommendations provided with your lamp (LED bulbs are recommended), keep bulbs from touching the woven shade, and have hardwired fixtures installed by a qualified electrician.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including designs, photos, text, and logos, belongs to ARS LOCI LLC or its licensors and may not be copied or used without our written permission.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a product or the Site is limited to the amount you paid for that product, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on the Site when you place your order applies to that order.
